The panpipe, the flute, the bagpipe and the alpenhorn are still in use in a corner of Europe as time seemingly stood still in this documentary by Nicolae Margineanu. Genuine folk music, as much or as little has been preserved in cultural enclaves around the Carpathian Alps, in Transylvania or Moldova, defines the unique musical space of an entire people.
Unchanged for centuries, amazingly simple techniques are used to create an ocarina from clay, a flute out of a twig and a bagpipe out of a goat hide. This and much more in a visual and melodical anthropological adventure into Romania and its traditional music.
