Dumitru Bogdan, a peasant from Transylvania, returns to his village after a stint as a policeman only to find his lover, Veronica, married to another man. When WWI starts, the two men find themselves conscripts in the same unit. Jealousy and desire for revenge set the tone for an epic dispute that has an unlikely ending.
Outstanding direction and camera work in a film that is very actual despite being set in a feuding Europe almost a century ago.
